The Bloody Cornfield (Turkish: Qanlı Zəmi), is a 1985 biographical movie written by Süleyman Rüstem and Ehmedağa Muğanlı and directed by Ebdül Mahmudov, produced in Azerbaijan. It tells the story of Qaçaq Nebi, an Azerbaijani Turkish hero (a heroic outlaw) of 19th century in Tsar era.
At the time, the Turks of southern side of Aras river were living under Qajar Kindgom while those in northern part were under Russian Tsardom control. Qaçaq Nebi was from Qubadli a region of northern Azerbaijan, today occupied by Armenia.
When the Qajar government pushes them to evict their own land, the residents of a village in south Azerbaijan ask Qaçaq Nebi for his help and support . Nebi and his fighters help the villagers.
Qajar Officer asks Nebi not to interfere in southern part of Aras river. "Both sides of Aras belong to my nation," Qaçaq Nebi says precisely, "Put this into your mind; a homeland doesn't have this side or that side!"
