The Shuar live on the western edge of the tropical rainforest, between Amazonian lowlands and Andean highlands, on the territories of Ecuador and Peru. Nature is in their traditional culture an integrated part of life, mobility is achieved in the hallucinogenic ecstasy of their rituals.
Lisa Fässler portrays the Shuars' struggle to preserve their cultural identity with a minimum of comments (just some to the beginning and end of the doc), mainly with images of life and coexistence, of hard work and ecstatic ritual celebrations.
