When a young lad falls into the river after leaving from a boxing club, it looks like a tragic head injury may of caused his death. But when Taggart goes to the lad's home, he discovers his mother is dead too. After anaylsis tests prove the curry was poisoned, suspicion falls on the grieving husband. But when other people start being poisoned around the area, they trace it to a supermarket owned by a Mr Tibor Mary, who later receives a ransom letter. Is it a lunatic who is targeting random strangers and the supermarket? Or is there something far more sinister and complex at work?

This was the 9th Taggart mystery and was originally broadcast on September 7th 1988. This is from a recording of mine from when they were repeated on TV a few years ago, so apologies for any glitches there may be. This time I just uploaded it via Handbrake on the normal ratio and the picture looks okay on here. Mind you, the 720p uploads play perfectly on Dailymotion, so why they play up here I don't know. However, I've noticed that the video does track. Usually that happens I've discovered when I scroll to select a scene for the video, but as I didn't this time I have no idea why it's tracking. But I'm too tired to attempt to upload this again today. I do hope you enjoy the video anyway, and please be warned that this mystery is extremely hard to figure out. It made my head hurt trying to work out any rhyme or reason to it when I first watched it, but there is a logic to the killings. However, if you can work it out before the conclusion of the case you're a better man (or woman) than I am, Gunga Din, as the saying goes. Good luck with this one!
