Many do not even think about the fact that the expenses in such families can be huge. There are expenses for the services of specialists, examinations, therapy and rehab, costly medication, psychologists, and there are usually more, and these expenses are not fully covered by money received from the government.
By the way, in 2021, the size of the monthly amount for disabled children is around 110 USD in Russia. This amount does not even cover all the medicines that are needed, not to mention any amounts required for various treatments.
It is also worth remembering that when a family has a child with disabilities, the family often has a significant decrease in income, since typically one of the parents has to give up working in order to be able to care for the child. If the help of relatives and friends is not enough in this situation, they have to contact charitable foundations for assistance.
So, it is clear that additional support for families that have children with disabilities is necessary and essential! One of the strategic goals of the Growing Up Together Charity Fund (https://instagram.com/fond_vzrosleemvmeste) is to change the charitable sector so that by 2035, every child with disabilities and their parents will be provided with full assistance.
