Tristan is named the Min of Ag's "Fertility Adviser for the North Riding of Yorkshire". He's responsible for promoting the use of artificial insemination to some skeptical farmers. James shops for a new radiogram, but is reluctant to let anyone else use it. Rosie joins her father on his rounds, but nearly has a serious accident with a bull. Siegfried treats the Whithorns' pair of spoiled dogs. James enlists Tristan's help to check some sheep that are being exported to the Soviet Union. Calum takes up residence at Skeldale.
