Что же касается так называемой Бойни на Маре, то свидетельство этого летописца не нуждается в дополнительных комментариях:
"В Маре наши воины варили взрослых язычников в котлах, детей же насаживали на колья и пожирали их уже поджаренными"(16).
Здесь нас интересует хронологический вопрос, никем ранее не отмеченный.
Вопрос о корреляции этого реально происходившего каннибализма с принятием догмата о поедании реального тела Христа в Евхаристии.
В 1059 "каннибальский догмат" о присутствии "истинной плоти Христа" в евхаристии становится новым догматом Церкви. Теперь христианин, причащаясь, должен есть не хлеб, "но подлинное тело Христа, которое едят зубами" (Беренгар Турский, 1059 год), должен "наложить зубы на Его Плоть", ощущать эту плоть "дрожащим языком, покрасневшим от крови" (Святой Иоанн Златоуст).
И следующие поколение христиан в Первом Крестовом походе (1096 - 1099 гг.) в поедании человеческой плоти ничего противоестественного уже не видит....
