On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the victory of the Bay of Pigs (Playa Giron), Fidel CASTRO gives a speech in which he talks about the failure of the meeting of American heads of state in Punta del Este, Uruguay. He deplores the little space that Vietnam occupied in the debate and sends a message of support to Latin America. He pays tribute to the Cuban fighters,
to its hard-working people, and with humor, to Che GUEVARA and his ability to escape the "Yankee imperialists". The speech is illustrated by images of the meeting of American heads of state, demonstrations against the presence of American president Lyndon JOHNSON on Uruguayan soil, by excerpts from the speech of the president of Ecuador on the situation in Vietnam, by images of Cuban farm workers and by photos of Che GUEVARA.
