DIY Mushroom Fairy House Lamp Using Coke Plastic Bottle
Hello friends, for this video I thought I should continue with the plastic bottle houses because I love the way they turned out and you enjoyed it so much and wrote me all those beautiful messages and comments. So in this video tutorial I show you how I made a mushroom fairy house lamp using nothing but a coke plastic bottle, tin foil, paint, hot glue, copper wire and paper clay (I used "Das modelling material" but you can use any paper clay or even a homemade paper clay - I have a video about that here -
https://youtu.be/_Ef-U6aZEoI ) This is a great way to teach children about recycling and also stimulate their creativity and imagination.

I started by cutting the coke bottle in three pieces. I glued the bottom to the top piece, and made a cone out of the middle piece. As usual I add volume and elements to the house using tin foil. I then cover the foil with paper clay. I draw on the wet clay where the windows will be. Keep in mind that this will be a lamp so it would be nice to have lots of windows all around. You can work in one layer or, if you are a beginner you should work in two layers, one for covering the surface and the second one for the details like wood texture, bark, mushrooms, stones, white dots on the mushroom cap. After the paper clay is dry you can easily add more details using tin foil and hot glue. Let everything dry. For painting I used watercolors and acrylic paint. In the end you can seal the paint using some matte spray varnish. For outdoor use you can apply a few coats of matte yacht varnish all around the clay so the water doesn't touch the clay. I placed some battery LED lights under the house and inside the mushroom cap. I also placed an LED that comes out near the door as an outside light. I recommend you use soft lights that will gently illuminate your windows so it looks like a real house. DON'T USE HOT LIGHTS!
