This is not an audio remix but rather a video remix of The Beatles' highly pivotal promotional film for their 1967 recording of 'Strawberry Fields Forever.' The audio accompanying this video is the actual untouched Giles Martin 2015 remix. This song is, by far, my all-time favorite of theirs among many others. I've often been tempted to create an audio remix just to have an excuse to work with this beloved track, but I always ask myself, "Why? There's nothing that really needs to be changed." I'm fully satisfied with Giles Martin's 2015 official remix, just as I am with the original 1967 release. This song was a real game-changer for me back in 1967. While many thought, "Now they've gone too far," I thought, "Wow! This is going to be a new adventure."
To satisfy my urge to work on a 'Strawberry Fields' project, I came up with the idea of a video remix. Now that I'm gaining more expertise in video production and receiving more favorable comments on my video accompaniments, I felt it was the right time. My video incorporates images from the original promo combined with new visuals to paint a more surrealistic narrative. However, there is no real story beyond what John is expressing: "Nothing is real, and there's nothing to get hung about."
Thanks for watching, and be sure to stick around until the end of the second fade-out. Is John saying "I buried Paul," or is he saying "Cranberry Sauce?" A true Beatles enthusiast will know the answer, but the controversy surrounding this was perfectly suited to the era in which it arose.
