Accompanying him on the journey down by train are prison warders Mr Mackay and Mr Barraclough. But Fletcher has no plans to get there and plots a way to escape. But he finds it harder than he ever imagined...
Starring Ronnie Barker, Fulton Mackay, Brian Wilde and Hamish Roughhead, this is basically a three hander, but a superb one at that. This was the 2nd of the pilot episodes in the Seven of One series, but the reason I have uploaded this last is because I also have the full series of Porridge and plan to upload each series over March for you. It was a surprise for Barker that the producers wanted a series of this, not least as it contains none of the premises or settings for which it became famous. But someone saw potential in it and later Ronnie Barker would say that this was the best work he ever did.
