Part 1 of 3 of the supernatural tale. Maurice Allington is the lecherous, hard drinking owner of The Green Man Inn. Although married with a teenage daughter, it doesn't stop him trying to seduce the numerous female guests staying there. When he isn't doing that he often regales them with numerous stories of the hauntings that are suppose to infest the ancient Inn. But one night during dinner his father is struck by terror before dying, and his words before his death give Maurice cause to wonder whether maybe the Inn might be haunted after all...
Starring Albert Finney, Linda Marlowe, Michael Hordern, Sarah Berger, Nicky Henson, Josie Lawrence, Michael Grandage, Natalie Morse, Michael Culver, Brain Greene, Sandra Caron, Robert Scofield, R.J. Bell, John Evitts, Reggie Oliver and Anna Skye. This is another of my finds from a charity shop, and was an adaptation of Kingsley Amis' 1969 novel. Originally broadcast on October 28th 1990, this earned a TV BAFTA nomination for Albert Finney, who certainly enjoys himself as the lecherous Innkeeper. Ironically, this was one that I'd uploaded on Dailymotion before they removed it, so this is their loss. By the way, if you are wondering where you may of seen Natalie Morse before (who plays Finney's daughter in this), it's probably in The Little Match Girl (1987) and as the Skipping Girl in the film Drowning By Numbers (1988). Please note that this contains swearing, violence, sex scenes and nudity.
