Summary
King Leontes rips his family apart with his jealousy but grief opens his heart. Will he find the child he abandoned before it is too late?
Set across a 16-year span from the 1953 coronation to the moon landings, this production imagines a world where the ghosts of fascist Europe collide with horrors reminiscent of The Handmaid’s Tale, before washing up on a joyful seashore.

My notes
This is another production mounted during the worldwide pandemic without a live
audience. A Winters Tale may only be difficult for me and not others but
it could fit the environment of COVID better than any other. It is not dour in
any way and has rich characterizations. However the story borders on the absurd.
I've seen the play live and on video both. Watch for the stagecraft and clever
business. More on this play at Royal Shakespeare Company including productions
such as this Winter's Tale incorporating sign for the deaf. My thanks to the
