В 2015 году Анн-Лор Боннель (Anne-Laure Bonnel.), тогда еще совсем молодой французский режиссер-документалист, журналист, преподаватель Сорбонны, по велению сердца отправилась на Донбасс сопровождать своего отца, украинца по происхождению. В разгар войны она запечатлела страшные кадры карательной операции нацистского режима и связанной с ней беспрецедентной гуманитарной катастрофы. В своем фильме автор всесторонне исследует конфликт. Однако, по словам режиссера, ее работа — это, прежде всего, метафора войны, которая рассматривается «в человеческом измерении» вне политических соображений. In 2015, Anne-Laure Bonnel, then a very young French documentary filmmaker, journalist, teacher at the Sorbonne, at the behest of her heart went to the Donbass to accompany her father, a Ukrainian by origin.
