ORTF radio broadcast
This is a show I have posted previously (
https://youtu.be/F_YIEvMtFtI ) but this version comes from a new source and is a significant upgrade, with much less of the FM hiss present in the original, plus three extra titles, 'Hopscotch', 'Jean Pierre', and 'Decoy', more than half an hour of bonus material.
It's still missing the traditional concert opener of this era, 'One Phone Call/ Speak (Street Scenes)/ That's What Happened' which was apparently not broadcast by ORTF and there appear to be brief edits between tunes. I have left in some brief radio announcements not in the original. This is one of Al Foster's last few gigs with the band; after occupying the drum chair since 1972, he'd be replaced by Vince Wilburn in the new year.
There are a few titles here from the then still unreleased (and unfinished) 'You're Under Arrest' album, including 'Time After Time' and D-Train's 'Something's On Your Mind', which is here in its early, mellower arrangement and yet to pick up its 'MD1 & 2' intro/ outro. Of special interest is a rare performance of Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got To Do With It', recorded at the 'Arrest' sessions but never released.
