Rote Gitarren (also known as Czerwone Gitary) is one of the most popular and important rock bands that came out of Poland. They formed in 1965 and for a time they had so much success that they were often considered as the Polish equivalent of the Beatles.
This wonderful song from 1973 is in German and though I barely speak a couple of phrases in German here is a small partial translation of the really beautiful lyrics aswell just to get an idea of the song meaning (sorry for any mistakes in the translation)
It burns the forest,
in the afterglow.
It burns the mountain
and so I'm burning too,
with no wind to cool me,
I'm looking for you
until I find you.
I can not live like this,
without your face,
without your contact,
your tenderness.
All you can give,
silence and stillness.
