Houses are burnt, fences and cars are riddled with bullet holes and smoke continued to rise on Friday afternoon following an overnight military attack by Ukrainian government forces in Slavyansk.
Starting on Thursday night and continuing until the early hours of Friday morning, it is reported that nobody was hurt in the attack. However, several houses on Proletarskaya Street and Ordenonosnaya Street were either fully or partially destroyed.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin expressed surprise on Thursday at the absence of a reaction from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in regards to the continued shelling in Slavyansk.
