Ibn Bajja (ابن باجة), known in Spanish as Avempace, was a Muslim philosopher born in the capital of the Taifa of Saraqusta (today Zaragoza) around 1080.
He is especially known for being the diffuser of post-Aristotelian philosophy in Europe, but he also cultivated medicine, poetry, physics, botany, music, and astronomy. He had to leave Saraqusta and lived in exile in different cities. It is known that he died in Fez in 1139.
Original documents from different museums illustrate this mini-documentary, which aims to be entertaining and educational. It is part of the audio-visual collection "Saraqusta" produced by the Zaragoza City Council and which I made in 2003 with my production company at that moment, Ateva Comunicación.
