Olivia Hussey (1951-2024) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to England in her childhood, where she pursued her dream of acting. She gained worldwide fame for her role as Juliet in the 1968 film Romeo and Juliet, for which she won a Golden Globe and a David di Donatello Award.
[Film Career]
In addition to Romeo and Juliet, she delivered remarkable performances in films such as Jesus of Nazareth 1977, Death on the Nile 1978, Black Christmas 1974, and Mother Teresa of Calcutta 2003.
[Marriage and Family]
Hussey was married three times and had three children:
Her first husband, Dean Paul Martin, with whom she had a son, Alexander,
Her second husband, Japanese singer Akira Fuse, with whom she had a son, Maximillian,
Her third husband, American musician David Glen Eisley, with whom she had a daughter, India.
[Battle with Illness]
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and received treatment, and in 2017, the cancer recurred, requiring further treatment. However, she passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 73, due to the recurrence of the disease.

Her Romeo and Juliet co-star, Leonard Whiting, released a statement upon her passing:
