Comment: New play-list and, in this Far East and already within this enormous country called China, we are going to find ourselves in a new scenario in which, and in its rural world, we are going to run into happy peasants with hats round straw and wide brim, they go to those terraces with small but well parceled land that draw the hills of a green and enigmatic world painted «In the rice fields» Enjoy it.In this way and, to get into the atmosphere, imagine at dawn ready to head to those rice paddy lands and, with your mind flying to such places, we are going to travel to the 80s, as if it were an appetizer, to introduce you to the animation world. Since, as the first composition, we are going to meet one of our leading composers today, the Japanese Joe Hisaishi and who, in 1988, gave us the soundtrack of «My neighbor Totoro» enjoying the song «Evening wind» Enjoying This delicatessen, full of sensuality.
Then, changing the composer, we go back to the 90s, and in 1995 at the hands of the American composer William Rose, we come across the sensuality and the great sound of «El pequeño panda» and of which we are going to listen to two songs, «Little Panda» and of course his «Suite»
And after this little panda, we fully enter the hard core of our playlist, and it is that how could it be otherwise, since for this we are also in the country of the rising sun, we return to our main composer, in 1997 to find ourselves with, surely, the most recognized soundtrack of the good, by Joe Hisaishi, and which he composed for «Princess Mononoke» and from which we are going to enjoy, neither more nor less, than 7 songs that are: «Departure -To the west», «Lady Eboshi», «Long», «Mononoke himne instrumental», «Mononoke himne vocal», «The lost people» and, «Women who push foot bellows»
And so, having completed half of our selection, changing the millennium, and to end the molar of our today’s play-list, if this seems little to you, we will end with the soundtrack that the great Japanese master, Joe Hisahisi composed in 2001 for «Spirited Away» and from which we are going to listen to two songs: «Its hard work» and «White dragon»
And after this journey of Chihiro, changing from this rhythmic and happy tonality, we change the rhythm, to make it much calmer and more regretful, thus heading towards the last third of this selection. For this and, as we mentioned in the previous installment, «The Great Wall», there is a film that serves as a perfect wild card to paint the three play-lists that I have wanted to show you from the Eastern world. And what film are we talking about, well, the soundtrack that was nominated for the Golden Globes for Best Soundtrack and that, in 2003, was composed by the German maestro Hans Zimmer for «The Last Samurai», and that serves as a perfect canvas to paint the melancholy that can be felt in these immense rice fields. So enjoy the two songs that I have selected today: «A way of life» and «Safe passage»
And after this joker dressed as a samurai, we are heading to the final part of the selection that we are enjoying today, to its end. For this and without further ado, in 2005, we are going to meet the French composer Alexandre Desplat who, with this «The Painted Veil» makes his incursion into our play-list, for, returning to the sound that, in 1995 William Rose, gifted us with the sensual and grandiose sound of «El pequeño panda» heading towards a new and last contribution that the German maestro Hans Zimmer makes today. And is that, what year and what movie are we talking about? Well, from the animated film that the German composer left us in 2008, when composing the soundtrack of «Kung fu panda» and from which we are going to listen to two songs: «Kung fu panda» and the «Serp Suite»
And so, we have come to the end with the last contribution to our selection that, in 2009, the British composer Christopher Gordon gave us, when composing the soundtrack for «Mao’s Last Dancer» And, with this last dancer, we say goodbye, hoping that you have enjoyed this delicious selection that, painted in those velvety green Chinese rice fields, is drawn in the morning with a bit more than an hour duration.
