How do you make a candle look like an ice cream sundae
Make an ice cream sundae candle! Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make one:
Materials you'll need:Wax (preferably soy wax)
Candle wicks
Candle dye (optional)
Fragrance oil (vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry)
Glass container (preferably a jar)
Double boiler
Wooden spoon
Thermometer
Glue gun
Ice cream scoop
Toppings (sprinkles, whipped cream, etc.)
Step 1: Prepare your workspaceBefore you begin, make sure your workspace is clean and free of any clutter. Set up your double boiler and gather all your materials in one place.
Step 2: Melt the waxFill the bottom of your double boiler with water and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, place the wax in the top pot of the double boiler and let it melt. Make sure to stir the wax occasionally with a wooden spoon to ensure it melts evenly.
Step 3: Add dye and fragrance oilOnce the wax has melted, you can add candle dye and fragrance oil to it. You can choose any color and scent you like, but for an ice cream sundae candle, we recommend vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry scents. Use a thermometer to check the temperature of the wax, and add the fragrance oil once the temperature reaches 180°F. Add the candle dye to achieve the desired color, but be careful not to add too much as it can affect the quality of the candle.
Step 4: Attach the wick to the containerWhile waiting for the wax to cool down, prepare the container by attaching the wick. Use a glue gun to glue the bottom of the wick to the center of the container. Hold the wick in place until the glue dries.
Step 5: Pour the wax into the containerOnce the wax has cooled down to around 140°F, it's ready to pour into the container. Use an ice cream scoop to pour the wax into the container, and make sure to leave about 1/2 inch of space at the top.
Step 6: Add the toppingsBefore the wax cools completely, add the toppings to the candle. You can use sprinkles, whipped cream, or any other toppings you like. Be creative!
Step 7: Let the candle cool and cureAllow the candle to cool and cure for at least 24 hours before lighting it. Once it's fully cured, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch and enjoy your ice cream sundae candle!
Note: Always follow
candle-making safety guidelines when making candles. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from flammable materials.
